Galerie Falk Losniza is pleased to present Found Realities, Ivan Mitrović’s first solo exhibition with the gallery.
Mitrović’s painting practice unfolds between precise intention and openness to the unexpected. Working from found doodles, notes, and informal drawings gathered over many years, he translates these modest source images into carefully rendered oil paintings that hover between reproduction and interpretation. Through this process, questions of repetition, authorship, and the status of everyday imagery subtly come into focus. Alongside these works, Mitrović presents more expansive, expressionistic paintings composed of stitched canvases densely populated with motifs drawn from popular culture, art history, and contemporary visual noise. Layered, fragmented, and deliberately excessive, these compositions reflect the way images are encountered and processed today. The exhibition is accompanied by a text by Valérie Knoll.
